Ingredients
50g butter softened
75g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon of clear honey
1 teaspoon of vanila essance
2 teaspoons milk
100g plain flour
25g corn flour
2 greased baking trays
for the icing:
15g of icing sugar
2 tablespoons of water pink or what ever food colouring you want.
Equipment
3 bowls
Wooden spoon
Sieve
Flat surface
Rolling pin
Small cookie cutter
Knife
Two baking trays
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180c or 350f or gas mark 4
2. Next put the butter and sugar and cream them together then add the yolk
3. Cream that together with the wooden spoon.
4. Stir the honey and vanila essance and milk
5. Sift the flour and corn flour into the bowl. Mix every thing together with your spoon
6. Squeeze mixture untill it turns into a dought ball. If the mixture is a little dry add a few drops of milk.
7. Sprinkle work surface with flour then roll the mixture out with a rolling pin until it is about 1 quater of an inch thick.
8. Cut out with your cookie cutter to cut as many as you can out of the dough then roll up the scraps and roll them out and use them as well.
9. Put the cookies into your preheated ovenfor 6-8 mins untill they turn golden brown.
10. Let them cool on the baking trays. Whilst they are cooling you can make your icing to go on top.
11. Sift the icing sugar into your spare bowl and slowly mix in the water until you have your white mixture. Pour half of this into you 3rd bowl and put in a few drops of your choice of food colouring.
12. Cover the bowls with cling film. Once your cookies are compleately cool use a knife to put your icings on top of your cookies.
